Starting this Wednesday night (April 12) and continuing for another four Wednesdays (April 19, 26, and May 3) Maurin Academy Co-Founder Bryant Macfarlane (who I interviewed for this Saturday’s vid) will be teaching a class on the impact of the technological sublime.
Bryant will cover the early thoughts of Burke and Kant before delving into how modern technology affects our minds in similar ways, and ways that can lead to results that are either good or harmful to us. The technological sublime can be used to manipulate people politically. No reading required–just come, listen, and discuss (but readings will be provided if you want to use them).
